Jon Territo | Music Director
Since 1989, Jon Territo has worked as a conductor and musician with a variety of artists and musical ensembles throughout Central Florida. Mr. Territo has been with the Orlando Concert Band since 2009, and has brought a fresh perspective to the repertoire, connecting this talented ensemble with their ever-growing audience.
Originally from the Detroit area, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan, and then spent three years performing abroad before settling in Orlando. After working in entertainment at Central Florida, Jon began teaching in Orlando. A genuine love for music and musicians led him to greater involvement in the artistic community nationally. He became the Orchestra Director at the First Baptist Church of Orlando, preparing them for the church’s weekly television broadcast, as well as the popular Singing Christmas Trees.
Mr. Territo has been fortunate to have directed the Orlando Philharmonic, Disney’s Christmas Candlelight Ceremony Orchestra and Choir, the Florida Young Artists Orchestra, the Garden Theatre, and many other ensembles in Central Florida.
Jon Territo earned his Masters Degree from Rollins College, in Education with a concentration in music. He is an active educator, conductor, performer, clinician, and speaker. He currently holds the position of Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Valencia College.
Andrea Tobin | Associate Music Conductor
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Tobin received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University, where she was the first recipient of the Hugh J. Croft Memorial Scholarship for Music Education, presented by Dr. James Croft. Andrea received her Master of Music Education degree from the University of Central Florida, where she was also inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Andrea Tobin has been teaching in Florida’s public schools since 1984. Mrs. Tobin has conducted All-County Honor Bands throughout the state of Florida and is an active adjudicator of band solo and ensemble and concert Music Performance Assessments at the middle school and high school levels. Mrs. Tobin has also conducted the Florida All-State Middle School Honors’ Band and the Florida State University Summer Music Camp Band.
Mrs. Tobin started her teaching career in Lakeland, Florida, as an assistant band director and choral director, at Southwest Jr. High, where she wrote the marching band drill and accompanied the Symphonic Band to the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, in Chicago, under the direction of Frank Howes.
A former Teacher of the Year, at Teague Middle School, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, Mrs. Tobin’s bands have performed in the Orlando area, at National Conventions, marched in the Ocala, Apopka, and Magic Kingdom Parades and consistently made superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters’ Association Concert Music Performance Assessments.
Currently, Mrs. Tobin is the Director of Bands at Chain of Lakes Middle School, in Orlando, Florida. Previously, she founded the orchestra and guitar programs at Wekiva High School, having taught there for seven years. She also conducted the Orange County All-County Middle School Honors’ Orchestra.
Mrs. Tobin counts it a privilege and honor to conduct the talented members of the Orlando Concert Band and to be part of the french horn section. She plays in her church orchestra and enjoys family time with her husband and daughter.
